Help Me Understand Cosmetic Surgery

translating surgical terms into

everyday language

LayTerms.com

My staff used to cut and paste from consents 20 years old to fill out the lay terms as they prepared consents. So I created a behemoth of a pdf form that wrote out the lay terms I wanted when they checked the procedures I recommended in my consult. No database! I wrote a java script for every single term coupled with a grammatically correct translation into lay terms. There were scripts for punctuation, different areas of the body, preventing blank spaces, and qr-codes. Oh, god, the qr-codes☹😖😤😭😨😩🤬!!! It was my way of providing the portability in HIPAA. Anyway, this damn pdf form got so unwieldy that I decided to make it into a database, and, because I hadn’t created an online database since mySQL in 2003, I decided to share with the world. Maybe even get other HCP’s to contribute. I’m a cosmetic surgeon, so that is where this starts. Hopefully, other specialties will jump aboard.

And just because json makes it possible, qr-codes are included.

Do you want to contribute?
